Cards Per Sheet Calculator FAQs

Learn how to interpret your results and prepare your cardstock layout before cutting or printing.

How do I calculate how many cards fit on a sheet?

Enter the sheet width and height, card width and height, sheet margins, and spacing between cards. The calculator estimates the number of cards that fit in portrait and landscape orientations and shows the resulting layout.

Can I use inches, centimeters, or millimeters?

Yes. Select your preferred unit and enter every measurement using that same unit. Do not mix inches, centimeters, and millimeters within one calculation.

What is the difference between portrait and landscape layouts?

Portrait uses the card's entered width and height in that order. Landscape rotates the card dimensions. Comparing both layouts helps you identify which orientation fits more cards on the sheet.

Why should I include margins and spacing?

Margins reserve space around the edge of the sheet, while spacing leaves room between adjacent cards. Enter realistic values to avoid a layout that fits mathematically but is impractical to cut or print.

Does the calculator account for printer and cutting limitations?

No. The result is a dimensional estimate. Printer feed limits, bleed, cutting tolerances, and paper grain can affect the number of usable cards. Confirm these requirements before starting production.
